The BurnIt Story

Every superhero has to have an origins story, right?

How did it start?

After years in a busy NYC gym, it became obvious that there were only 24 hours in the day and all of the prospective clients seemed to want to train during the same 4 of those hours (6-8 am and 5-7 pm).

Rather than attempt to shatter the time-space continuum, BurnIt was born as a way to train as many clients as possible. You can't get enough of that high that comes from helping people accomplish something they didn't think was possible.

Who are my trainers?

BurnIt was co-founded by two personal trainers. By the time they met, each had been in the fitness industry in some capacity for over a decade. By the time they fell in love, got married, and decided to make a business together, they were ready to spread fitness throughout the world.

Yes, because all your workout needed was a good love story.

That girl up there with the boxing wraps is Liz, one of our co-founders. You'll hear from her a lot as you grunt, sweat, and occasionally swear your way through your workouts.

Liz is a certified personal trainer, weight management coach, group exercise instructor, turbokick/piyo/hip hop hustle/zumba teacher, and an all-around pain in the ass (if you ask in the middle of one of her clients' harder sets).

She has trained everyone from 10 year olds to grandmothers (including her own, hi Grandma!), but as a weight-loss success story herself she readily admits that those seeking major transformation are her favorites.

So what does BurnIt do?

BurnIt Athletics is our way of giving everyone the ability to have the individual attention, focus, and coaching of working with personal trainer, without the hassle of going to a gym or the sky-high costs of traditional personal training.

Whether you like video workouts that can be done from the comfort of your own home (or office, or hotel room...), written out workouts you can take to the gym, or simply weekly kicks-in-the-pants to augment your workout routine, we've got you covered.
